I am happy to say that the "Road Warrior" CD audio has been mastered, and we are very close to being able to release this record finally! The audio you are hearing right now, is actually clips from the master, and the record will be available digitally quite soon! Stay tuned for news of our record release party/performance! Also, I have added photos from recording session to the site- so feel free to check them out ! Also, I changed the design of the site, hope you guys like it.

Orquesta Dharma will kick off the 2011 season of Jazz vespers series at First United Methodist Church, Modesto. With a somewhat scaled down version of the band, music from the soon to be released CD will be featured, along with special arrangements of music from the Methodist Hymnbook.

I regret to announce that our CD release event will be postponed, due to the club Coda closing unexpectedly next month. The CD is still on track for release however, and should be out by mid January!!

I am happy to announce our CD release event, which will be held at Coda in San Francisco. This will be part of the excellent Te Gusto series of latin jazz performances held weekly at Coda on thursday nights. The date is January 27, 2011- and it is sure to be a great night of music and fun!! Hope to see you there!!

Well, I thought the tracking was finished- ha,ha. I decided to add two more songs to the CD- my arrangement of the jazz standard "Footprints" ( Wayne Shorter) and my friend and trombone superstar Steve Davis's "The Slowdown". Today we tracked the Rhythm section and bone for these, and it went very well. Carlos Caro, Omar Ledezma, Sam Bevan, and Andy Nevala laid it down and I am excited to add the horns to the mix! This will definitely be the end of the recording for this CD project- as the CD will now be over 60 minutes, and there's not much room for any more! lol

yesterday we finished the tracking for the record, Omar Ledezma, Jr, Darren Smith, and Ramon Garcia laid down the vocal tracks and did an awesome job!! Omar did the lead vocal on Vamanos Pa'l Monte, and Ramon played some sweet flute pregones. I can't wait to get this out now!!

Jan. 4th we tracked horns and drums for the new CD. A very good session, and thanks to Pete, Darren and Brian, we got the 4 new tunes done. Shooting for a mid June release date.

On nov. 5, we laid down rhythm section tracks for 4 new songs ( 3 originals and 1 original arrangement of a salsa "standard"). Karl Perazzo, Carlos Caro, Omar Ledezma, and Mario Flores on percussion, and Andy Nevala, piano, Sam Bevan, bass, all played beautifully and I am psyched to add the horns and drums to the mix now!! The 3 song release that is available now will be included in the full length CD, which will hopefully be released next year.

We have the first review from a jazz critic up now, and It's good! Check out the press page to see it.

We now have some live recorded tunes up on the music page, from a gig June 13 at Armando's in Martinez, CA. They are free to download , please enjoy!
